GlowPond controls your yard lights from your phone over Bluetooth. It is built so that your information stays with you.

What the app stores

All of this is stored on your phone. It is included in your phone's own backup (iCloud or your computer) if you have one turned on.

What the app does not do

Bluetooth

GlowPond uses Bluetooth to find and control your lights. While it looks for lights it can also see the names of other lights nearby, such as a neighbor's. Those are shown to you so you can tell them apart from yours; they are not sent anywhere.

A network's name is public: the lights show it to any phone nearby. Its password is not. The lights themselves keep the name and password you give them, which is how they know to listen to you.

Face ID

The app asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode before it shows or shares a network's password. iOS does the check and tells the app only whether it passed.

Sharing

When you export a network, share a password, or send a Network Report, it goes only where you send it, through the iOS share sheet. An exported network includes the password only if you turn on Include the Password. A Network Report never includes the password, the address, or the owner's name.

Purchases

If you buy a plan in the app, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details.

Your data is yours

Children

GlowPond is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
